The gauging instrument to be put on the hinges of standardized door cases (instead of the door) enables everybody to correctly adjust a doorcase before fixing it to the wall. It replaces a spirit level which has to be hold in one hand and which has to be set many times to different parts of the case.

The adjusting job becomes easier, quicker and more precise.

The device consists of an aluminium square pipe with a pair of hinge parts fitting into the hinges of standardized door cases. A water level fixed to the square pipe and to be observed from above controls the exact vertical position of the hinge side part of the case. A square - to be unfolded from the inside of the pipe - controls the horizontal position of the case. A battery operated line laser - fixed to the pipe at the level of the door handle - beams at the opposite case side and shows whether this side and the hinge axis are plane to each other.
